I'm writing this amendment to become an addition to the constitution. Since its birth, the prison system and who runs it has been a disorganized and long neglected system. Thankfully Frein has kept it all together but we should form a system so that it may be a more stable part of our nation. This is VERY open to revising and amending if any of you have suggestions
Section XXII: Of the Warden
The Warden shall be the owner and head moderator of the Teen Government Prison server.
Article 1: The Warden shall be elected by the members of the subreddit every two election seasons along with the council and presidential elections, election seasons starting on the 20th and ending on the 27th with a 72 hour voting period. To be eligible to run, a candidate must comply with the definition of "citizen" in Section 6 Article 1 ,must not be guilty of any serious offences/have a serious criminal record including being found guilty of Rule 1, 8, or any NSFW content, and must be registered in the census. Only registered citizens can hold the office of Warden. The Warden is to have their own personal election. In order for a candidate to be added to the ballot, they must announce their intent to run before the elections begin.
Article 2: The Warden is responsible for ensuring the order and stability of the prison. This may include timing out or banning those they may believe to be a threat to the order of the prison. If a banned member believes that the Warden acted unjustly, they may appeal to the courts to have their ban from the prison overturned. The Warden is NOT immune from the law and can be held fully accountable for any laws they may break. If the Warden is found guilty of any serious criminal offense such as murder, or political crime such as bribery, they are automatically removed from office and will not be able to hold the office of Warden until two election seasons have passed since their removal. The office of the Warden is NOT a high office, meaning that the Warden may hold other offices besides the Warden.
Article 3: A Deputy Warden shall be nominated by the elected Warden and then the nominated individual must be approved by a majority vote by the elected council that month.
Article 4: The duties of the Deputy Warden are to assist the Warden in maintaining order and stability in the prison. They will hold the powers of an assistant moderator.
Article 5: In the case the Warden is not able to fulfill their duties as Warden due to personal reasons, an unexplained absence, or removal of office, the Deputy Warden shall take up the office of Warden until the Warden either returns from their absence, or until the upcoming election season has ended and a new Warden has been elected.
Article 6: This section is to be added to the constitution and go into effect immediately.
