Hello, everyone. It is important to ensure that this sub remains firmly rooted in democratic principles and the rule of law as defined by the Constitution. Therefore, I am proposing an Anti-Authoritarian Act.
If passed, no individual or party that engages in anti-democratic or authoritarian conduct shall be allowed to participate in governance within this subreddit.

Article I: This act aims to protect democracy, accountability and the rule of law by preventing actions that undermine elections, representation and fair governance.

Article II: Authoritarian conduct shall include but is not limited to:
i)Attempting to circumvent the processes of elections, voting or council authority in ways not outlined by law.
ii)Engaging in election manipulation, fraud or suppression.
iii)Using positions of authority to unfairly influence outcomes or restrict fair participation.
iv)Attempting to establish centralized (Centralized power shall be defined as the concentration of decision making authority in a single individual or party without adequate legal checks, transparency or accountability mechanisms) or unchecked control over governance.

Article III: All cases under this act shall be subject to investigation and trial by the Court in accordance with constitutional guarantees of due process.
If found guilty, penalties may include removal from office or bans depending on severity.

Article IV: This act does not restrict freedom of speech, opinion or political belief as protected by the Constitution.
It applies only to "actions" (not speech) that directly violate democratic functioning.
All accused individuals retain the right to a fair and public trial.

Edits:
i) Defined "centralized" carefully.
ii)Omitted disqualification from elections as a penalty.
iii)The clause “attempting to undermine or bypass democratic processes” has been revised to “attempting to circumvent the processes of elections, voting or council authority in ways not outlined by law” to ensure clarity and prevent misinterpretation.

I would more carefully define "Centeralized" as that can mean anything from establishing autocracy to slightly increasing presidential authority. One cannot be disqualified from election without a constitutional amendment. "Attempting to undermine or bypass..." should be "Attempting to circumvent the processes of elections voting or council authority in ways not outlined by law" Or else for example petitions could be considered to bypass council votes.

I would edit the part about using positions to unfairly influence outcomes to something more definitive, I have a feeling it could be used as a loophole if someone supports someone for a reason they don’t like, otherwise perfect
